First Trip of 2012

First Trip of 2012

We had our first trip of the 2012 whitewater rafting season on January 20. Many thanks to Max and Gabe for joining us and getting us off the couch and on the river, and for allowing us to be a part of Gabe’s eleventh birthday celebration. The weather is mild and we have plenty of warm fleece and wetsuits for your comfort. It’s been a mild winter so far and the water is at a great fun level. The French Broad River is never really a crowded river and it is even less crowded now. The...

Rainy Day Rafting on the French Broad River

Rainy Day Rafting on the French Broad River

Many people don’t want to go rafting on the French Broad River when it’s raining. But it can be some of the most beautiful time on the river. The mist rolling through the mountains is spectacular. Flow’s First Birthday

Flow’s First Birthday

What started out as just a normal (if there is such a thing) day of whitewater rafting on the French Broad River turned into a rescue operation for Sandy and her crew of intrepid rafters. Noticing something odd on a rock in the river, Sandy and crew paddled over to investigate only to discover a stranded puppy shivering and whimpering. Only one thing to do of course. Save the puppy!  Fortunately Flow was smart enough to know a good thing when it came floating by and got into the raft. After...

Celebration Day on the French Broad River

Celebration Day on the French Broad River

What a great day,  May 5 was a day full of celebration. On the morning full day trip we had a birthday celebration and in the afternoon, a wedding celebration. And on top of that it was mothers day. It was a beautiful, warm, uncrowded May day and we were honored that these folks would choose to go whitewater rafting on the French Broad River with us on their very special day. Fritz was super busy the night before making celebration cupcakes. If you have a special occasion coming up consider a...
